Evidencia científica sobre Nutrición

Aunque las dietas cetogénica y de bajos carbohidratos son consideradas controversiales por algunos profesionales de la salud, ahora hay evidencia de alta calidad para apoyar su uso rutinario para la pérdida de peso y ciertas condiciones metabólicas, como la diabetes tipo 2, la presión arterial alta y algunas formas de dislipidemia. También hay pruebas preliminares para su uso en otras condiciones.

Existen pruebas científicamente fundamentadas que indican que las grasas saturadas naturales no son un peligro para la salud; las advertencias sobre los peligros para la salud de las carnes rojas se basan en pruebas débiles; las dietas bajas en grasas no parecen tener ningún beneficio especial para la salud o el peso más allá de los de una dieta baja en carbohidratos.
