Understand how your body works and learn to take care of it
What is a nutritional coaching?
Nutritional coaching is an important part of Brain Training Center and is included in each client’s assessment. Foods not suitable for your body can cause negative effects, alter your mood, your sleep and daily performance. Proper nutrition can improve your brain health, cognitive function, and mental and emotional well-being. Through a nutritional coaching we can identify the specific eating plan that works best for your brain, indicating the appropriate strategies to help you feel better, achieve and maintain a healthy weight.
A nutritional plan adapted to your brain is essential for your health and well-being.
*The term diabesity was introduced by Paul Zimmet in 2001 and refers to the close relationship between overweight-obesity and diabetes. Both diseases are alarmingly on the rise worldwide.
To effectively treat the brain, we must treat the whole person. Our approach to an integrative medicine (also known as metabolic or functional medicine) places you at the center by addressing around all the biological, psychological, social and spiritual factors that can influence your health and well-being.
We search to find out the real cause of your problems, to provide not only an inmediate solution, but a long-term benefit that help to prevent other problems throughout your life. It is like an insurance plan for your future health and well-being.
You must first complete an initial consultation. It may require you to complete prescribed lab tests, a brain map (qEEG) or other psychological tests to fully understand your history and make a diagnosis.
In an initial stage, we work on reducing unhealthy behaviors, developing a specific and individualized action plan, for the mental state, physical activity and diet.
The program consists of:
Evaluation of your brain activity and laboratory tests
Functional health, carbohydrates, sugar, fat, proteins, minerals, nutrients, cholesterol, glycemic index.
We will design a plan according to your goals, your body and your brain.
We carry out continuous accompaniment and monitoring during the integration of new eating habits
At Brain Training Center, through our online coaching for sustained weight loss, we help you evaluate the benefits of weight loss, set goals, select an appropriate diet and prepare the environment around you.
It is not only a matter of aesthetics
Obesity plays a dominant role in metabolic diseases like diabetes and metabolic syndrome. In turn, these metabolic diseases increase the risk of heart disease, stroke, cancer, kidney disease, joint pain, etc.
Doctors often recommend patients to lose weight. However, what they don’t usually tell is how to lose weight.
We can help you make positive changes to achieve your goals.
Benefits of a proper diet
You can benefit from a nutritional coaching if:
In the traditional view of health, it is the absence of symptoms or disease; but this is not real. Most people are somewhere in between: they have the odd ‘ache’, they don’t really feel well but they don’t have a disease. This pain means that there is a partial loss of function; something is supposed to be working, but not very well. A disease is the complete loss of function. Functional medicine focuses on finding the source of these “pains” or functional problems and restoring function.
Health is about signals, it is the ability to keep many signals working well; with enough nutrients, enough oxygen, enough resources to produce energy and re-produce signals, having a nervous system that is in balance, in homeostasis. There is no medicine that can produce more signals or completely repair the function; what the medicine does is mask the symptoms.
How can we keep this system in balance? Through proper nutrition, which is our body’s fuel.
Functional medicine describes an advanced study for doctors to better understand and treat the causes of chronic diseases. Once this advanced study has been completed the doctor is certified as functional doctor, also called integrative doctor.
Functional medicine is based on a holistic vision of the person and focuses on finding and treating the cause of symptoms. Do you have attention and concentration problems? Many healthcare professionals might assume that you have attention deficit, but these symptoms may be due to other causes, such as a head injury or even intestinal dysfunction.
Before you start taking any medication, isn’t it better to find out what your body really needs? You could have a mineral deficiency, vitamin D deficiency, or a hormonal imbalance. Progesterone imbalances have been linked to anxiety, depression, insomnia and premenstrual syndrome. Balancing hormone levels has been found to alleviate these symptoms. Why take a medication that you don’t need?
